Working Together to Recover Every Empty Beverage Container

Founded in 2010, the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA) is a not-for profit, industry-funded organization whose membership includes beverage brand owners and distributors. Our program helps reach mandated beverage container recycling targets.

Our Program

CBCRA Recycling Program and Initiatives

CBCRA offers consumers a cost-effective and convenient way to recycle empty beverage containers, at home and in public spaces. A comprehensive away-from-home recycling program combined with the Blue Box, offers a comprehensive recycling system that makes it easy for people to recycle beverage containers everywhere they go.

The CBCRA program enables beverage container producers and distributors (Stewards) to fulfill their obligations for beverage container diversion wherever people consume beverages (at home, work or play) and recover them at one of the lowest costs in Canada.

CBCRA Annual Reports

CBCRA is redefining how beverage containers are recycled. Our efforts have a singular goal – to change how people deal with their empty beverage containers. And with every passing year, we get closer and closer to reaching the government-mandated target of recovering 75% of beverage containers sold into Manitoba.

Combined, these members have served, and continue to serve, on many different beverage stewardship boards across Canada.
