CBCRA operates the beverage container recycling program in Manitoba
CBCRA implemented and operates the Recycle Everywhere program. Recycle Everywhere strives to educate Manitobans on beverage container recycling, and ensure that it is convenient to recycle empty beverage containers no matter where you live, work or play. This includes Canada’s first province-wide away from home beverage container recycling program.
Supporting Recycling through the Container Recycling Fee (CRF) in Manitoba
Beverage producers supplying into the Manitoba market are charged a Container Recycling Fee (CRF) for every non-alcoholic, non-dairy beverage container they supply into the province.
This fee funds the entire operation including infrastructure, signage, technical support, and Promotion and Education. In addition, the funds pay for up to 80 per cent of the cost to collect, sort and market used beverage containers in residential recycling programs.
The Container Recycling Fee ensures that each beverage sold supports the recycling process.

The Container Recycling Fee is the amount beverage producers are charged to cover the cost of recycling the beverage containers they produce.

Program Plan
The Program Plan provides information on the financial and reporting requirements for obligated beverage stewards and details on how funds submitted to CBCRA are used to fund and recover beverage containers in both residential and away-from-home channels.
CBCRA operates under a program plan that was first approved by Manitoba’s Minister of Conservation on August 31, 2011. The current plan details the steps that we are undertaking to help achieve the 75% beverage container recovery target in this province.

CBCRA’s Program Plan operates under the Manitoba Packaging and Printed Paper Stewardship Regulation (195/2008).
